At Paradigm Psychology Clinic, our cognitive and academic assessments are designed to evaluate key aspects of intellectual functioning and academic performance across various age groups. We utilise a range of standardized tests, including the WISC (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children), WAIS (Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale), WPPSI (Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence), and WIAT (Wechsler Individual Achievement Test).
These assessments provide a detailed understanding of cognitive abilities such as reasoning, memory, and problem-solving, as well as specific academic skills like reading, writing, and mathematics. By identifying strengths and areas for growth, we can offer tailored recommendations to support educational planning, learning strategies, and overall cognitive development. Whether addressing learning difficulties or maximising academic potential, our assessments are a crucial step in understanding and supporting individual needs.
The first step involves meeting with a clinician to discuss the reason for referral and what you would like to get out of testing. Your clinician will also gather a comprehensive history and ensure the appropriate tests are selected.

Cognitive and academic assessments are designed to evaluate an individual's intellectual abilities, learning styles, and academic skills. These assessments provide insights into areas such as memory, problem-solving, processing speed, and specific academic strengths or challenges. By understanding cognitive functioning and academic performance, we can identify learning difficulties, giftedness, or other educational needs.
Duration: 1.5-3.5 hours
Once testing is complete, it typically takes 3 weeks for your clinician to score and prepare your report. Your clinician will then meet with you to discuss the results and individually-tailored recommendations.
